Hi all,

I am about to acquire my new Touran soon (Touran 1.9 TDI Trendline DSG). The car has the standard steel 6.5 J x 16 wheels and 205/55 R16 tyres. When perusing the FAQ of the Deutsche Touranclub I learned that snow chains are not permitted on this combination. I looked for information in the Belgian Touran brochure but nothing is mentioned about the use of snow chains. When I contacted the Belgian VW importer (Ets. D'Ieteren) they knew nothing about it either.
I have the following questions :

1. Can someone explain the reason as to why it is not possible?

2. In the FAQ I find that snow chains are allowed on the combination of 6J x 16 ET 50 wheels with "extended humps" and 205/55 R16 tyres. I contacted a few car parts suppliers in my neighbourhood (I live north of Antwerpen) but according to my contacts this type of wheel is unknown to them. Can these wheels be found easily in Germany?

3. What are "extended humps"?

I would very much appreciate a reply if possible. Please feel free to answer my query in German which I can read without problems.
